...A FIGHTING CHANCE

  • Could you defend yourself if attacked or stop an abduction?

  • Could you defend your family from intruders?

Learn the skills necessary to protect yourself and those you love. Effective self-defense is not about athleticism or even being in shape; it requires training to respond effectively to a violent confrontation against armed or unarmed assailants.

Quality martial arts instruction focuses on teaching students to maintain emotional control during a physical confrontation through repetition and practice in live combat drills.  It requires repeating techniques until they become a matter of habit and reaction, replacing the student's natural emotion-based response.  No training regimen can guarantee you will prevail.  However, our regimen will give you a fighting chance.

Our style is military in origin, designed to impart the skills necessary to survive and prevail in violent confrontations.  The training style is very intense, it involves significant contact, and it requires discipline and focus.  While many of the techniques are the same as those employed in Judo, MMA, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and Jiu Jitsu competitions, the focus of this class is on survival and self-defense.

Seminars:

We offer a one-day self-defense seminar that imparts basic skills, all of which must be practiced repeatedly after the seminar in order to be effective.

Full course:

The full course and belt progression system includes stand up fighting, ground fighting, weapons defense, and weapons usage.  Students will learn blocks, strikes, kicks, elbow strikes, knee strikes, locks, chokes, throws, escapes, ground fighting/submission, and a wide variety of other techniques.  Jiyu No Taki Ryu Jiu Jitsu incorporates a variety of martial arts styles, including boxing, Muay Thai, Karate, Japanes Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, Tae Kwon Doe, and general combatives.  The goal is to incorporate whatever technique is most effective, regardless of style.  Courses are limited to adults (18 and older).
